What this calculator does not cover
This is a Scope 1 + 2 ballpark using NGA 2025 factors. For tender responses, AASB S2 reporting or supplier questionnaires, you need a GHG Protocol aligned inventory that also covers:
- Scope 3 (purchased goods, freight, business travel) — often 70%+ of an SME's footprint. Check which categories matter for your industry with the Scope 3 Materiality Check.
- Refrigerants and fugitive emissions (cool rooms, HVAC, vehicle A/C). Look up GWPs in the NGA Factors lookup.
- Documented methodology, base year, organisational boundary (control vs equity share) — required for assurance.
